RESEARCH

The DUTP organizes and teaches the PhD program in Urban Planning at the UPC. Since September 2006, the official phase of the Doctorate in Urbanism has been transformed into the Official Research Master in Urbanism, which is the first part of the doctoral studies, including the teaching subjects of the program, the research seminars and the master's thesis, which prepares the thesis project, and the second phase of the Doctorate consists of the elaboration of the doctoral thesis, inscribed in a line of research of the DUTP. The current Master in Research is based on a PhD program that began in the late seventies from an important research work of the Laboratory of Urbanism of Barcelona, and that consolidates its current structure from the academic year 1991-92. In 2004 it obtained the Mention of Quality from the Ministry of Education and Science, which has been renewed successively up to the present.
