In this book, published posthumously in 2005, Lynch focuses on deterioration with the aim of challenging and transforming the negative perceptions often associated with it. Throughout the text he explores ways of projecting with impairment rather than eliminating it. In Chapter V, he redefines the concept through approaches that highlight its aesthetic, historical and functional potential, promoting interventions that dialogue with the residues and traces of time rather than erase them.
