CONGRESS: "Urban Futures Cultural Pasts"

July 15 to 17 I ETSAV I Deadline for abstracts: April 25.

CONGRESS: "Urban Futures Cultural Pasts"

The conference is organized by a series of MISMeC professors in collaboration with AMPS (https://amps-research.com). The AMPS is considered notable by the UPC. This conference opens relevant debates for cities around the world. Across the Mediterranean, questions relating to sustainable futures are paramount. In Europe in general, gentrification of traditional neighborhoods is endemic. Respect for indigenous cultures and crafts is urgently needed in North America and Australasia. In Africa and Asia, how to sustainably engineer growth into existing contexts is an urgent problem. In Latin America and the Middle East, development that avoids the homogenizing forces of globalization is vital. In these contexts, this conference argues that these interchangeable global issues are key to our past, but also to our sustainable future.

Deadline for abstracts: April 25.
